Pasty.NET brings wireless broadband Internet access to remote locations in five townships within Marquette County. These townships are: Michigamme Republic Wells West Branch Residents within the coverage area qualify for broadband service according to the following schedule:
Installation fee: $50 (one-time)
There is a discount of one month's service for annual payment in advance. The terms of the County agreement assures level prices through September 1, 2013. Pasty.NET's approach to expanding service is one of neighborhood-based receiver/hot spots, housed by organizations, businesses or residents who join the network, agreeing to help serve others "down the line", and agreeing to leave their equipment powered year-round. A member may opt out of serving others down the line for a fee (call the helpline for details). All Pasty.NET members on wireless automatically receive access to Pasty.NET's nationwide network of local dial-in numbers at no extra charge. This means when you travel away from home you can stay connected by dial-up without any long distance charges. The dial-up also has local numbers to use as a backup, in the event the wireless network is ever interrupted.
